2026, May 7:  Memorandum with Sokhumi State University

Today, May 7, 2026, a session dedicated to the birthday of Professor Tariel Putkaradze was held. The event was organized by the NNLE Tariel Putkaradze International Society of Kartvelology and Sokhumi State University.

The session was blessed by Father Mirian Samkharadze, a member of the National Movement – Round Table - Free Georgia the  and the Rector of the St. King Tamar Gymnasium. Invited guests were welcomed by Prof. Tea Jugheli, Rector of Sokhumi State University and Prof. Merab Nachkebia, Head of the Scientific-Research Institute of Kartvelian Linguistics.

Memories and welcoming remarks were shared with the audience by prominent scholars from Sokhumi State University, the St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia, and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, Ethnologist – Roland Topchishvili, Linguists: Manana Tabidze, Ivane Lezhava, Mikheil Labadze,  Natia Putkaradze,  Historians: Zurab Papaskiri and Mikheil Kartvelishvili.

Within the framework of the event, a Memorandum of Cooperation was officially signed between Sokhumi State University and the NNLE Tariel Putkaradze International Society of Kartvelology, solidifying their future partnership.
